I work in a shop as a sales assistant, we are always getting a static shock when we touch a roll cage, a trolley or sometimes when we touch a basket.
I have seen a certain wristband before when i worked in a computer shop for my work experience, they were ones that connected via a cable to a plug socket which prevented a static shock. I was wondering if there are some wrist bands that dont need connecting to anything that we can wear to prevent us getting a shock.
Wear a metal thimble - it will take the zap instead of your finger.
The anti-static wristband used in electronics repair is a fine idea IF you are attached to the same object for an extended period of time. But I get the impression that you are going from object to object on a regular basis, so that nullifies the wristband's effectiveness.
The are other things you can do to reduce the static too. Wear natural fiber clothes, like cotton or wool, and increase the humidity in the area where you work. See the link below for more ideas.
