I have a 18month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has the most amazing temperament?
But Im looking for a girl to keep him company, not necessarily a Staffie. He is great with my son and other dogs but I don't want to introduce a bossy girl that will try n take over. Basically what breed of dog would you recommend (I live in England so some dogs a wrongly classed as dangerous dogs). It has to be a dog that is great with kids that is number 1 priority and number 2 is she has to fit into our life without putting my dog's nose out of joint!
You can't find what you are looking for by breed. Within any given breed you'll find examples of passive and pushy dogs. Instead of focusing on breed, look for a rescue that places adult dogs.
With an adult dog you know what personality you're getting. You know about the dog's behavior and personal habits. These aren't likely to change like they are with a pup. You also have the opportunity to introduce your dog to the new one and see how they get on before you commit.
