What is the best book or books for machinist to learn speeds and feeds and all about metal cutting?
I'm looking for some materials that would help me address theses questions. What to look for when looking at wear on carbide tooling? How to figure out the best combination of depth of cut and %of tool to cut with? How to get the best surface finish? And how these apply to all types of material (Brass,Aluminum,1018 steel etc).
Go to your library and look up the subject, they should have plenty of free books*.
*Unless you live in a non-mechanical town like I do. I looked up "Lathe" at the library and they had a total of 1 book and it was a RELIGIOUS work!!
