need some help with my raptor 660 starter bearing?
Ok i was riding and out of know where it made a little backfire and shut off so i talked to my dads buddy that works on motorcycles and dirtbikes and 4wheelers i told him what had happedn and he asked me if the starter bearing had been grinding and making noises i said yea he said what has probley happend is the sprag broke on the one way and he said when that happens its like its locking the engine up for where it wont turn over has anyone ever heard of this
Makes sense. The starter does engage with the engine. If it engages and locks, it will stop the stop the engine from turning over. Id pull the starter out (check for any internal damage), put it in gear and see if it still rolls. Then you will know if the engine is okay.
